Tony Roberts- Founder

Tony Roberts began City Transmission Service in 1971. He began at 39 Banks Ave, then moved to our current location 51 Southside Ave in 1976. He is known for his reputation for honesty and fairness both with customers and employees throughout Western North Carolina. After years of being a district manager of an insurance company, he decided to pursue his goal of owning his own business and working to create a business that would help people. By creating a business where people could feel comfortable bringing their automotive problems to him, they found competitive pricing and honesty. Tony supported the community through donations to Kiwanis, Lions, and Optimist Clubs. He was active in church his entire life and believes in supporting locally owned businesses in the Western North Carolina area. Sadly, Tony  passed away in 2016
